Jacqueline Fernandez is a Sri Lankan actor from Manama, Bahrain and was raised in a multi-ethnic home. The father of Jacqueline, Elroy Fernandez, is Sri Lankan. She is the younger of two sisters and a brother who is older. It was because of the conflict in Sri Lanka that the family made the decision to relocate to Bahrain. Schooling was finished within Bahrain and she won an Scholarship for an education at University of Sydney. There she was awarded a Media and Communications degree. Passionate about languages and cultures inspired her to enroll in the Berlitz Language School, a school in which she mastered French as well as Arabic while learning Spanish. Miss Sri Lanka 2006 won Miss Universe 2006 competition in March 2006. She also participated as Miss Universe 2006 also. After winning Miss Sri Lanka in 2006 Padukone was able to begin her work as a TV host. She hosted the show Lanka Business Report which focused on business in Sri Lanka. Padukone, the daughter of the badminton player Prakash Padukone, was born in Copenhagen and was raised in Bangalore. In her teens, she played in national level badminton tournaments. She later resigned from the sport and became an artist. Padukone was born in Mangalore, India. Her native language Konkani is her origin. Padukone Village is situated in Kundapura Taluk within the Udupi District in Karnataka in India. Prakash Padukone's father is an international badminton player who is now retired. Her mother is a travel agent.
